The candidate must have a passion for test automation, testing and creating quality code. This role will be responsible for planning, development, and implementation of Quality Assurance systems and tools related to automation, management and strategic information systems and will perform and/or participate in all aspects of verification, including requirements testing, feature and functional testing, unit testing, regression, load and performance testing.

The ideal candidate may be called in on short notice to make informed and crucial decisions regarding the quality of final deliverables. This role also requires the ability to establish cooperative relationships to interact comfortably and work effectively with colleagues worldwide.

The candidate will know test automation best practices and be able to drive new and innovative approaches to test automation. This ESET candidate needs to possess the ability to diagnose difficult and obscure development problems and/or defects enables to solve complex technical problems.

Major Responsibilities/Activities ■Able to plan and organize multiple tasks in an efficient manner to completion ■Assist in writing test plans, test cases, and automation test scripts ■Assist with developing and implementing QA processes, tools and infrastructure to improve quality and efficiency, including non-UI test and GUI based test automation solutions ■Ensure customers, both internal and external, requirements are being met by verifying product functionality and performance against product requirement specifications ■Find innovative and creative ideas and solutions to improve test automation processes and procedures ■Study diverse and complex problems and derive creative solutions to meet those problems ■Develop, establish, and maintain structured testing methodology and environments ■Manage bug tracking and provide informative reports and updates as requested ■Provide quality documentation and reports that support product development ■Test new releases of product to ensure compatibility with target hardware platforms ■Track testing on assigned products, including new products and modifications to existing products ■Validate installation packages comply to specifications and requirements ■Work with team members to continually expand on and improve the Software QA and release process Minimum Requirements ■AS/BS in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience ■Experience working with relational/SQL databases ■Ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner ■All candidates must have recent software quality assurance testing experience extending back at least one year through employment, education or combination of both, or as a specialist in applicable technologies ■Appropriate level of test automation skills ■Effective communication skills: engagement, writing and verbal ■Experience designing and developing software testing processes and procedures ■Experience in writing scripts in a language such as bash, Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby, TCL, VBScript or similar ■Hands-on experience writing test plans, using automated testing tools and applying structured testing methodologies ■Ability to work independently as well as work as an integral member of a high-performance team ■Proficiency with multiple platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux ■Usage of vi or emacs editor or similar Desired, but not required ■An understanding of current Internet security threats and networking essentials ■Experience with Java, C, C#, C++ or any other programming language ■Experience with older versions of Microsoft Windows (9x/Me/NT) ■Fluency in a foreign language such as Czech, Polish or Slovak ■Windows programming experience (COM/DCOM/OLE automation, Windows API) (less)
