Senior Network Architect
Applicant will be responsible for Enterprise capacity planning, product selection, integration planning and design, new systems and product documentation, vendor negotiations, maintaining vendor relationships, technologies evaluation and selection, co-implementation with Operations personnel and identifying sound technical solutions to execute the requirements of the business. Applicant must work effectively with Systems Architects, System Administrators, Project Managers, DBAs, Developers and management to provide timely execution and support for business systems, planning, implementation and increased system uptimes.
Applicant must know or quickly learn the working environment * technical and business, through self initiative and direction from senior staff and/or piers. The applicant must assist in mentoring of team members and other workers relating to your job function and demonstrate leadership through technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, business knowledge, organizational skills and professionalism.
Applicant must be able to participate effectively on team and enterprise projects. Education Requirements: Bachelor*s degree (preferably in Computer Science or MIS/CIS) and 6-10 years of relevant IT experience (minimum 4-7 years of network design and planning).
Relevant experience may be a substitute for education. Extensive experience working with Cisco Data and Voice configurations and technologies and expert knowledge to include but not be limited to the following areas: physical standards topologies, data link standards/switching, routing, host to host communications, reliable and unreliable communications for end to end communications.
Demonstrated expertise with TCP/IP and routing protocols such as EIGRP and BGP. Expert level ability to configure and support Routers, Switches, Concentrators, Content Switches, firewalls, multiplexers, F5 BIG IP devices and supported modules, and other telecommunications equipment.
Expert level knowledge of data network security mechanisms including access control lists, firewall functions, and encryption methodologies. Expert level knowledge of WAN transport technologies and methodologies such as point-to-point and MPLS data circuits, client and network to network VPN.
Experience with structured cable plant design is desirable. Qualifications: Applicant must have strong technical aptitude Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently.
The ability to apply technical knowledge, communicate ideas, and leverage interpersonal and/or business skills. Applicant should be skilled in ferreting out client requirements, determining concise implementations; generating complete and coherent documentation and interacting well in a fast paced high level group are required.
Applicant must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations; and must write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals effectively. Applicant must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers and customers.
Applicant must also show the ability and motivation to learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
