We are seeking a Family Physician executive to be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of a fully accredited family medicine residency training program. The Medical Director is responsible for maintaining a medical practice in the model practice (St.

Peter Family Medicine), and long-term care facilities; providing full scope Family Medicine including obstetrics. This position requires vision, leadership ability, and knowledge of Family Medicine & its role in the health care system and community.

Teamwork and collaboration, creativity and independent decision-making skills are crucial. This individual will use their excellent clinical skills and people skills to guide this large department in its mission to train the highest quality Family Physicians for the future of our facilities in southwest Washington.

The director guides the program faculty in developing and managing a curriculum that is innovative, trains physicians in the broad scope of Family Medicine and prepares them to practice in small towns. The position entails working closely with the program administrator to maintain fiscal integrity and good business practices.

Other internal relationships include residents, department managers and supervisors, clinical and office staff. External relationships include hospital administration and managers, nursing and other hospital staff, community leaders and members of the hospital's Community Board.

The director reports to the Chief Operating Officer of Providence St. Peter Hospital.

The director interacts extensively with medical and hospital staff to integrate faculty and residents into the hospital community. As part of the University of Washington (UW) Family Medicine Residency Network, the director maintains contacts with other program directors and UW staff.

The director serves on UW Network committees as needed and is active in regional and national professional organizations. We're seeking an individual who performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission and Philosophy of our founders, the Sisters of Providence.

Position Specifics This position is located at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

This position is a full time salaried position in Administration. REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school.

Licenses/Certifications: Active or Eligible for Medical License in the state of Washington. Board Certified in Family Medicine Experience: A combination of education, training, and experience that equates to a minimum of five years, full-time, professional activity in the field of Family Medicine, two years teaching experience in a Family Medicine residency program, including administrative responsibilities, eligible for membership on the St.

Peter Hospital Medical Staff with privileges, private practice experience preferred. Answer the call to fulfill the Mission.
