Logistics Director
Position can reside in either Melbourne, FL or San Diego, CA. Base salary plus additional management incentive bonus.

Their close-knit team of talented employees has remained at the forefront of the industry for over 40 years. *Responsible for all Logistics functions within this $150M DoD contractor.
*Will coordinate and perform integrated logistics support services for multiple complex programs, and proposals. *Logistics support services include: Logistics Planning, Material Release and Requirements Determination, producing basis of issue plans and material fielding plans, and other tasking falling within the Reliability, Maintainability, and Supportability areas, including analysis and overall sparing concepts as well as nationwide support to operations.
*Will lead the Logistics, and Field Service Engineering organizations. *Determines support requirements for preventive and corrective maintenance of complex products in specific area of technical specialization or new and unique technology.
*Participates with engineering to assure that maximum level of maintainability consistent with design integrity and specifications is incorporated into products. *Directs studies to determine transportability of products, handling and storage requirements and optimum service and maintenance programs.
*Integrates current logistics concepts into preliminary planning to evaluate the various options for maintenance concepts, level-of-repair decisions, and support/test equipment requirements. *Leads/directs efforts to ensure that integrated logistics support objectives are considered and introduced as early as practical on assigned programs.
*Participates in the development of plans which will have far-reaching consequences for logistics design and support at early stages in the system program life cycle. *Oversees and develops work statements, scope/priority definitions and the creation of budgets and schedules for large complex programs.
*Prepares and presents logistics program capabilities and services to customers. *Contributes to the preparation of proposals and provides technical and cost support for negotiations.
*Responsible for defining and specifying spares and support equipment. *Manages technical/field support activities and schedules.
*Documents program progress including implementation, timelines, issues, risks, and successes to maintain program course. *Manages customer senior management, company management and project team expectations for agreed upon project performance by obtaining, providing and interpreting project metrics.
*Gathers feedback from client on program results; analyzes feedback and incorporates same into future programs. *Identifies and determines global implications of program parameters and redefines, redesigns or revises as appropriate.
*Interfaces with team members, stakeholders and management to anticipate and manage changes to projects, such as technical requirements, business requirements and schedule. *Determines when additional resources are needed and implements same.
*Identifies or gathers information regarding possible solutions that may create additional, different or unique project objectives or results. *Participates in discussions regarding project-related decisions and project direction at the executive level.
*Participates in proposal efforts and sales calls to ensure product meets client needs and specifications. *Selects, hires and evaluates staff.
Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Requirements: *10 years of related experience in Integrated Logistics Support supporting DoD customer plus 5 years experience managing three or more functional areas or groups within the DoD Acquisition ILS areas, and bachelor*s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Knowledge of skills and methodologies involved in the development of integrated logistics support products to include use of current DoD tools such as COMPASS, SESAME, POWERLOG and CASA. *Familiar with the Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) process and the interrelationship between LSA elements.
*Experience or working knowledge of Cost Account/Control Account Management and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS). *Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or/and Defense Acquisition University or Army Logistics Management College; Logistics certification/designations a plus.
*Knowledge of Six Sigma principles also a plus. *Well developed leadership and team building skills and Exceptional written/oral communication skills.
*Familiar with U.S.
DOD procurement practices and policies. *Familiar with DoD requirements for different Supportability efforts (Quick Reaction Capability vs.
Program of Record, etc.).
*Ability to develop a Logistics Support Plan taking into account parameters such as system CONOPS, MTBF, MTTR, Maintainability at O, I, D levels, Life Cycle Cost and Availability requirements. *Must be a U.
S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
*Must be able to travel up to 25-50% of the time
