Position Overview: The PSA will proactively support an opportunity pipeline to drive potential opportunities through the sales process to closure. It requires the ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate on the development of innovative, tailored solutions for clients and prospects. Candidates must know how to gather the client data required to effectively tailor a solution. Solution selling is a must, and candidates need to understand the various ways a solution may be delivered and have the ability to anticipate what will work best for a given client. By combining technical expertise with business acumen this role provides vital, detailed information about how En Pointe solutions deliver business value to our clients. Essential Job Responsibilities: As a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect, the candidate(s) will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical / functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. With a proven track record of successful sales support activity, the Pre-Sales Solutions Architect will present and articulate the capabilities of En Pointes Professional Services Division and our strategic value. The candidate(s) will work with En Pointes Sales Account Executives to qualify opportunities and convert leads into successful engagements. The Pre-Sales Solutions Architect will also work with Sales Account Executives to develop and manage reference engagements through high quality technical and professional client relationships. He/she will act as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Account Executives and Client Solution Directors. The PSA must combine excellent sales ability, and consultative skills with a solid understanding of advanced and emerging technologies with an emphasis on Microsoft technologies, servers, storage, virtualization and business continuity solutions. With direct feedback from the field, the Pre-Sales Solutions Architect will work with Sales Account Executives and the En Pointe marketing team to develop and deliver high quality standard En Pointe presentations and demonstrations. The preferred candidate will have experience with core infrastructure technologies in the data center, project management, consulting, pre-sales or similar role, and be fully conversant with and experienced in solution selling. The PSA Role involves: Helping equip sales generalists with basic understanding of our solutions Participate in sales presentations in a technological role, answering technical questions and offering solutions Consultatively analyzing a client's needs and determining the best solution for the prospect Delivering short term billable engagements to analyze a client's environment, and provide an assessment of needs and ROI of various solutions Coordinating other technical resources as necessary Providing a solution that is the optimum combination of hardware, software, and services to meet the prospect's needs Configuring complex hardware and software solutions and working with various vendor pricing programs to develop functional solutions at the most competitive price possible Playing a key role in the development of the bid and proposal, and presenting the solution to the prospect Developing the proposal or statement of work for the solution Working with vendor partners to help drive business and deliver demand generation events Maintain account relationships over time to continue to deliver advice to the client and identify additional opportunities; maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecasts against regional goals Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft, Symantec, Server, Storage, Backup, and Virtualization technologies from the major manufacturers including HP, IBM, Hitachi, EMC, etc. Develop and maintain relationships with sales accounts. Individuals should have 5 years of sales engineer experience, preferably in the information technology market place. This position may require travel (mostly local) 50%. Minimum Job Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (8+ years relevant experience); Vendor technical certifications for storage and server technologies is desirable (written exam and labs); Experience in selling solutions into enterprise networks; Experience with VMWare virtualization software and server, storage and desktop consolidation and virtualization design, configuration, and installation a plus; Experience selling these solutions and the ability to develop complete end-to-end solutions is required. Knowledge of security issues and solution development desired. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with various levels of customers and internal personnel for all aspects of the market and products. Bachelors Degree and equivalent job experience required. Minimum 5 years of infrastructure engineering 3+ years experience with successful pre-sales support Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (required) 2003 Deep understanding of Microsofts Core Infrastructure Technologies (AD, Exchange, SCCM, SharePoint, ISA and ForeFront) Ability to present and establish value of the Professional Services Organization and business proposition for large groups and executives Strong organizational and time management skills Must be customer focused and have the ability to manage and resolve solutions to complex technical issues Ability to travel 50% throughout North America as required Ensure software proposal meets customer business requirements Proven ability to gain cooperation of others, proven leadership skills Excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills, and ability to interface to senior levels of an organization is required. Highly motivated, hands on personality. Ability to multitask and work independently toward stated business goals.
